Where are you from?

I‘m a native Washingtonian. Although, I believe in my former life I was a cobbler’s son on Seville Row (Central London.)

How long have you worked at sweetgreen?

A few menu changes, new store openings & promotions, so I’d say it’s been a year and about a month.

Do you have any secret talents?

I doubt it’s a secret, but I can cook- really well.

What are you passionate about?

All things food-related.  Oh, and shoes! So in essence, I’m passionate about “Sole Food.”

What is your favorite word?

Dad- it’s that simple!

If you could trade places with someone, living or dead, for a week- who would it be?

Either Steve Stout (Translation LLC), Dame Dash (DD172) or THE Chef Masaharu Morimoto.

What makes your store unique?

Aside from being the first, it’s also the smallest.  The staff here is stellar!  They’re some of the most driven associates I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.

If your store had its own reality show, what would you call it?

“The Hoya Hideout”

What do you do when not orchestrating the sweetgreen symphony?

Aside fromt hunting down the latest Nike Quick Strike, I can be found at local farmer’s markets, a multitude of grocery stores, mom and pop’s, or a kitchen near you.

What are things that you dig?

I dig live music (favorite local band is Black Alley).  I spend a lot of time with my friends from undergrad; we’re almost always together.  If I said I dug shoes, would that be redundant?  I DIG FLY KICKS! Oh and Vita Coco Peach and Mango Coconut Water.  This isn’t a plug.
