Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, twenty | one | pilots duo Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn have been nationally applauded for their uplifting pop lyrics and tunes, reflected by the sounds of the piano and guitar with killer drum beats.
Their name comes from a 1940s play called “All My Sons,” in which 21 pilots are killed in a faulty business decision. The lesson from the play is reflected in the duo’s own views:
“We are all constantly encountering moral crossroads where the decisions that benefit the ‘now’ will have consequences down the road; but the decision that might seem tough and tolling right away will ultimately be more rewarding.”
The band’s latest album, Vessel, was released in January and has seen huge success in the industry. Check out some of their tracks below & get ready for twenty | one | pilots at #sweetlife2013!

We’re really loving the philosophy of Gundlach Bundschu winery in Sonoma, CA. Gunlach Bundschu is a 153-year-old vineyard known for superior wine growing and has expanded its efforts to bringing the same caliber of independent music to the Wine Country. The Huichica Music Festival was conceived by owner Jeff Bundschu and Fruit Bat’s frontman Eric Johnson.
“I’d like to think Huichica is Jeff and I both living vicariously through each other. He has a dream job of running a winery on a beautiful piece of land and I’m in a band. This fest was conceived to be completely artist-friendly. It’s more like we’re throwing a party and you’re all invited. I’ve made it a point both years to book people who I not only admire artistically, but who are cool people to hang out with. It’s the ultimate way to control the vibe in a perfect way.”
- Eric Johnson, The Fruit Bats
The festival also plans on pairing great wine and music with delicious food sourced from local chefs and farms. Shout out to Gunlach Bundschu winery for living the sweetlife!
