dc farm to school week part 1: watkins elementary

Sweetgreen is excited to be part of DC’s Farm to School Week, where we pair up with schools in our community to teach kids about healthy, local foods.  We started the week off yesterday at Watkins Elementary near Capitol Hill. We met 138 students in 2nd grade and taught them how to make a fresh salad using local sweet potatoes. The kids were so excited to learn about roasting sweet potatoes and how tasty fresh local produce can be. I’ve never seen kids more excited to eat salads!
